Hi—my name is Caroline.
I work with teams to create and write for a more informed public. I specialize in collective storytelling, and my training comes from studying and then teaching as a Professor of Writing and Rhetoric.
At NPR, I am the Director of Network Impact. Our team powers the NPR Network: 250 independent and public newsrooms and music stations across the country.
In my town, I’m a local journalist for The Village Green, and I serve on the Community Coalition on Race.
Prior to NPR, I worked at TED as the Director of Global Engagement & Communications for the TEDx program of 50,000 organizers in 200 countries.
Paulo Freire wrote that “knowledge emerges only through invention and reinvention — the restless, hopeful inquiry beings pursue with others.” That hopeful inquiry with others is where I always want to be.
Life
My husband, Chaitanya, and I live in Maplewood, New Jersey, with our tempestuous cat, Roti.
